The Easton Building, an 11-story structure, designed by Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge and completed in 1903, is an example of early Beaux Arts skyscraper design.  It was one of the first buildings in Boston to use a structural steel frame.

In 2023, a two-year major renovation commenced. Exterior rehabilitation included resetting much of the granite cladding, masonry restoration, structural steel repairs, and restoration of the windows.

M&A Architectural Preservation restored the double-hung windows on all facades of the building, making them operable, as well as repairing joinery and replacing failed sills. On the first-floor storefronts on Devonshire Street, mammoth 12’ mahogany sills were replaced. Selected monumental windows on the second floor received major repairs and new glazing, and their interiors were repaired, re-stained, and refinished.
